Intercessions May 13, 2018

INTERCESSIONS. SEVENTH SUNDAY of EASTERTIDE [B]. May 13th., 2018.

Priest: Let us pray for the Church and the world through Jesus Christ, who in his prayer to the Father in the Upper Room showed the fullness of his strength, trust and joy, as he came to the culmination of his mission of love.

Reader: For all Christians, that without resorting to the superficial, we may seek to show a deep joy in the presence of the risen Christ, let us pray to the Lord [pause]:
Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

For our political leaders, that they may inspire a spirit of trust in their dealings with the national and international issues of our time, let us pray to the Lord [pause]:
Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

For those who are not successful, that like Joseph Justus, who was not chosen as an apostle, they may show the spirit of strength through magnanimity in defeat, let us pray to the Lord [pause]:
Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

For those who are sitting exams., that as they come to the culmination of their endeavours they may be sustained by a spirit of patience and perseverance, let us pray to the Lord [pause]:
Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

May Mary Our Lady of Fatima pray for us and for our First Holy Communion children this weekend:

Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia,
For he whom you were worthy to bear, alleluia.
Has risen, as he said, alleluia;
Pray for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia,
For the Lord is risen indeed, alleluia.

Let us now pray in silence for our own intentions [silence]:

Priest: Heavenly Father, may your Holy Spirit guide our prayer, so that as we pray in the name of your Son we are know we are caught up in a certain way into the life of the Holy Trinity; we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
